Vote!

Now that you're excited to vote on the NNEA's future leadership,
it's time to cast your ballot!

Among the many challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, one that the NNEA Executive Board faced was how to hold safe and fair elections. This year the Election Committee has decided to hold elections by paper ballot from Monday, May 9 to Thursday, May 19. The information below details what to expect during this election. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have questions, concerns, or things are not happening as anticipated.

Who?

To vote in this election, you must be a member in good standing. This means that you have paid dues in the last month - this will show on your most recent pay stub.

What?

This election will determine the following seats on the NNEA Executive Board for the next term (Summer '22-'24).

  • President

  • Vice-President

  • At-Large seats (3) - you may select up to three candidates

How?

Check your school mailbox for your ballot and candidate information sheet. If you cannot find your ballot, ask your NNEA building rep for assistance, or contact the VEA Colonial Uniserv office at office.colonial@leavea.org or call (757) 867-7331.

Where?

You can return your ballot in a few different ways.

1) Send your ballot through the NNPS pony / mail service. Insert your ballot into an envelope, write "NNEA" on the outside, and then put it in the BLUE mail bag located in your work site's front office. If you return your ballot using this method, allow a couple of days for delivery time.

-or-

2) Drop your ballot off in person at the Uniserv office at:
704 Gum Rock Court, Ste. 400
There is a mailbox next to the door for after hours or if the office is closed.

-or-

3) Return your ballot to your building rep for them to submit to the Uniserv office.

When?

The election period will be from Monday, May 9 to Thursday, May 19. Ballots must arrive at the Colonial Uniserv office by 5:00pm on Thursday, May 19.

If you vote after May 16, it may be best to take the ballot directly to the Uniserv office to avoid delivery delays.
